One of Spider-Man's special abilities is to stick to walls, but how does he control his adhesiveness? Does he "turn" it on or off like a switch or is it a mental thing?
It was explained once when fighting Electro that it was some type of static electrical bonding. Electro was able to interfere with it once. The movie showed small barbs that Spiderman could project from his digits. That wouldn't work to well with gloves and boots of course.
I like the static electrical bonding idea myself. That would explain how he can stick to anything with just a thought. He turns it on and off the same as you walk, turn your head, run, etc…. You don't think about doing those things because they are such a part of you. Like a bird doesn't probably doesn't think about flying after those first few flights.
